A day in the life and home of a child in an informal settlement

Hi, I’m Xhico This isn’t any ordinary blog about how your doing or you just feel like you want to express yourself to people. I’m writing this blog because I care about the environment and how you guys can help us solve our informal settlement style of living. Before I tell you what you can help on, I'm going to tell you HOW I’m  living here so far. First, we have trash EVERYWHERE! But we take the trash to the swap shop twice a day to get things we need like stationary and we can be healthy and not get germs or let other animals eat the trash and get very sick. We have steel houses that get caught on fire a lot and I mean A LOT!, and our fathers had to look for a job everyday so they can afford food for us. Now I can tell you how you can help so first, you guys can help our community by helping us build fireproof houses and power in a bottle and solar power and stuff like that and also help us by coming up with more things to help our environment. Grade 5 in Term 1!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to tell you guys my life in grade 5 is going so far, and I hope everyone is doing well. So I wanted to say was... Grade 5 is AMAZING! I have so many new friends and and so many new outings. Bukho and I visited the little side  so many times!I can't remember the last time we stayed on our side until the bell rang. Then one day(Also today the 28th-02-2019) I went with Chris and Bukho, Bukho had to go to Choir so Chris and I we're left until Lene came and she went with us back to the little side.Chris found a frozen grasshopper and it was dead. Poor thing! We then noticed an old car and I threw it on the roof of the sandpit, then for the next 5 minutes Lene and Chris tried to get it down and Chris got it and then I threw it in the baby pool and left it there in the sight of the dead grasshopper being eaten alive.  2 Weeks ago, we went on an outing to Kirstenbos and learned all about fynbos and birds and at the end, we went and rolled down the h...
