A day in the life and home of a child in an informal settlement

Hi, I’m Xhico This isn’t any ordinary blog about how your doing or you just feel like you want to express yourself to people. I’m writing this blog because I care about the environment and how you guys can help us solve our informal settlement style of living. Before I tell you what you can help on, I'm going to tell you HOW I’m  living here so far. First, we have trash EVERYWHERE! But we take the trash to the swap shop twice a day to get things we need like stationary and we can be healthy and not get germs or let other animals eat the trash and get very sick. We have steel houses that get caught on fire a lot and I mean A LOT!, and our fathers had to look for a job everyday so they can afford food for us. Now I can tell you how you can help so first, you guys can help our community by helping us build fireproof houses and power in a bottle and solar power and stuff like that and also help us by coming up with more things to help our environment. More like the Scary Singing Inspector

Hi, I’m Jesse I’m here to tell you of one of the worst days at school. Do you know why? I’ll tell you why. One of the Inspectors came to school today and his name is Mr Raymond. He said he wanted everyone in the big hall for singing. This particular inspector wore big knickerbockers and tight stockings with shiny shoes. He had big blueberry eyes with a red, round face. A green hat and a brown jacket. He was the meanest inspector I had ever seen and he was very rude. First, he called Benny and Charles up. Poor boys, they didn’t know a single song! Definitely not Blue bells of Scotland or minstrel boy. Mr R loudly screamed,”Do you know a single song?!” “ We know Pretty Polly” said Charles and then Mr R said” THEN SING IT”. He was a very noisy man as well. Benny sang a high squeaky voice because he was very scared and Charles sang in an low voice and it was terrible.
